Emma Hatch – From Ice to Studio
A couple weeks ago, during the school holidays, I went to the ice skating ring in Phillip (ACT) to pick up my daughter, who was skating with some friends.
I was just wrapping up a shoot and headed over there a bit early.
While watching people having fun skating the ice, my eyes were caught by a group of people approaching me, then they passed me. I couldn’t resist but turn around and look at them walking away.
Something just happened and while I didn’t really know what it was, I put my hands in my pockets looking for … my business cards.
Luckily I had a few and decided to head over the group of people and .. talk to the mom.
I handed her my card, explaining a bit of what I do, invite them to have a look at my work and told her that I would love to do a photo shoot with her daughter.
Time goes by and life goes on. One day, while driving, I got a call (hands free in the car of course). Emma introduced herself and said that she had a look at my work and would love to have a photo shoot with me. I gave her an appointment, the next week, for a fitting in order to plan for our shoot.
I put the appointment into my calendar, as I normally do, and set up a double reminder, as I normally do, for the fitting.
Time goes by again and while sitting in the studio editing, I had a call, Emma was on the line. She is at the meeting point ready for the fitting.
For some weird reasons, my appointment has disappeared in my calendar .. Anyway, I rushed to the shop (Enchante Bridal & Formalwear) for the fitting.
Emma fit in everything that the stylist, Louisa Crestani, “threw” at her. Everything seemed to be made to fit her. I then decided that we would do the shoot that same day.
After a short chat with Emma, she was happy to go ahead with the shoot. In less than 30 minutes, we found a make up artist, Catherine Malak, and a location to shoot. I wanted a mixed of studio and outdoor.
Emma told me it was her first ever photo shoot and would need directions. I was surprised by her ability to take in directions and even improvised, from the second outfit, she was cruising by herself posing. It was definitely a very fun shoot, set up by impro and .. Man, she’s gorgeous.
Keep the name in mind (Emma Hatch) you will hear from her soon as I believe she really have a brilliant modelling future within her reach.
Good job Emma.
