Welcome back beautiful people.

We kicked start 2013 with a double hoot last Friday at the Yarrallumla part during what was supposed to be one of the hottest day of the year, at least down here in Canberra, The Nation’s Capital.

I spend the most part of the morning with a gorgeous model, Ellena Midgley. I already shot Ellena a couple times for her personal portfolio and just before she leaves for other shores, we caught up for another fun shoot.

Jus a quick break for lunch and I got back to the same location, this time to catch up with the Vannithones. I already worked with Gabbi (Vannithone) once as my make up artist for another shoot and thought that she would be the perfect model for a fun shoot later on. For our shoot, I asked Claudia, Gabbi’s sister to join in for the shoot and she immediately said yes.

So we went out there under the sun for a fun, a bit hot, shoot.

Gabbi and Claudia came with a car full of outfits and accessories and of course Gabbi’s make up up so we could haveĀ  a play under the sun.

More than just a fun shoot, I wanted to do a HSS (high speed synch) shoot where I would be shooting wide open, most of the time at aperture as wide as f/2, using one flash (Quantum Qflash Trio for Canon) and balance the flash with the harsh sunlight.

I am also planning a Strobist shoot with other photographers in the area to play around with high speed synch. There is so much to say about HSS that I will put up another post on this particular topic. For the time being, the pix.
