L’inconnue du metro de New York
It was a hot day and I took the metro to the Leica Gallery near SOHO in New York. On a Sunday, the traffic is not that crowded and I was sitting in a half full wagon when at a few stops before my destination, a young girl walked in. She had something very particular that attracted my eyes and for some reasons, even there were seats all over the wagon, she decided to stand just in front of my Leica.
I had the Super-Elmar ASPH 21mm ASPH and quickly set my ISO up to 1600. I pre-focused and took a few shot. I think she noticed it and start moving around by changing poses.. I only took a couple of shots when the train stopped and she got off. It was one stop before my station but I decided to get off the train and introduce myself to this ‘parfaite inconnue du metro de New York’, and asked her to pose for me.
Quickly, I took a couple of shots on the metro platform and each of us headed to our own way. I just realised that I don’t even know her name ..
