M240 and Summilux in Sydney
It is said that thing happen for a reason.
I drove all the way to Sydney this morning, with my Leica M240 and the 50mm Summilux ASPH, with the intention of getting the long time drooled after Noctilux f/0.95 ASPH.
I have been using my Summilux for a while and just because it is such an awesome lens, I was greedy for even more awesomeness. What else could be more awesomer than the Summilux than the Noctilux itself..?
As I mentioned above, things happen for a reason. When I showed up at the shop, DigiDirect on Kings Street, my object of desire, The Leica M 50mm Noctilux f0.95 ASPH, in Silver finish, was … sold yesterday.
When the shop still had the “traditional” black version, it was the silver that I wanted. I turned away and took a few shots with my Leica M 50mm Summilux f/1.4 ASPH, before heading back to cold Canberra.
It is also said that from f/1.4, the Noctilux and Summilux have almost identical signature. Maybe. I was already imagining playing with the Noctilux tonight. May be it’s just not yet my time to own one ..
All images below are taken with the Leica M 50mm Summilux ASPH, wide open, and a Leica M Typ240.

Short trip but very nice photos. I like the shot of the “Old man with the hat” on the street.
