Pray for Paris
Less than two days ago, I was roaming the streets of Paris. Not as a tourist but more like a home visit because I used to live there.
This time I didn’t miss to visit places like Trocadero, Eiffel tower, Champs Elysées and other touristic “hot spots”.
While spending a couple of hours around the Champs de Mars (Eiffel tower), I have seen a lot of people, people from different origins, people from different ages, people from different religions and people from different cultures, speaking different languages.
One thing immediately hit me was, despite their origines and colours, religions an ages, shapes and forms, everyone was happy. Joy was everywhere, smiles were on all faces. You could feel the love so strong you could touch it.
This is one of the magical powers of Paris. The city of lights. The city of Love.
I arrived in Australia the day of my birthday, Friday November 13th, in the morning. France being 10 hours behind, it was still November the 12th.
This morning, it was with horror that I heard what happened in Paris. It was and still is a big shock.
All our thoughts and prayers to the families and friends of those who have been victim of the Black Friday attacks.
Paris is light, Paris is love. Paris is poets, Paris is artists. Paris is multicultural, Paris is Freedom.
This hasn’t changed and would never will.
