Street Photography in Auckland
Earlier this month, I flew to Auckland, New Zealand, for a street photography trip.
I though that to start a new project it would be best to do it somewhere that I am not familiar with to avoid the predictable.
I must say that the people in the streets of Auckland are very friendly and not camera shy at all.. as long as you make yourself seen as NOT sneaking or trying to steal an image of them.

Hi I’m starting street photography soon and I’ve never shot with film. I just need tips on basic stuff, also any recommended film would be cool too.
Hi Leroy,
Thank you for visiting the site and for your comment.
We do appreciate feed back from our visitors and will always try to do our best to respond to each and individual question asked.
If you are starting out in Street Photography, I would suggest that you start using a prime lens. The main reason being that prime lenses are (most of the time) faster than zooms and also more discrete.
A focal length of 35mm or 50mm is a very good starting point as if would include enough background and surrounding in the shot that will, in turn, tell better the story, IMO.
Also the benefit of using a lens will take away the distraction of zooming and keep all your shots with a consistent look and feel.
I will put a post on street photography basics on the blog section very soon and hope to see your comment, critics and images soon.
Hope that helped.
Thierry
Leroy,
In regard of the film, a fuji colour at 400 ASA would be a good starting point.
Have fun and looking forward to seeing some of your shots soon.
